There are several ways that you can kokua (help).

First of all, you can join us for a community work day open to everyone. Community work days are offered on the second and last Saturdays of every month from 8 to 11 a.m. At a work day, you will meet some of the people involved with the project and will have an opportunity to work on restoring Ko`ie`ie Fishpond. It's always a fun day and you'll definitely learn somthing new.

Secondly, you could make a donation to support our education and restoration programs. Your contribution will go toward the purchasing of supplies and education materials and it may support the manpower needed to carry out these programs. To make your tax deductible donation, click on the "1 Rock at a time" link on our home page for a safe and secure way to make your contribution.

Thirdly, you can become a board member or volunteer. If you have specific talents, here are some areas where we could use you as a kokua (helper):

  • Education Program
  • Fundraising
  • Grant Writing
  • Public Relations
  • Administrative Suport
  • and much more!

If you can kokua in other areas, let us know and we’ll be happy to have you volunteer!

Finally, you can help out by spreading the word about how to malama Ko`ie`ie Fishpond and other fishponds throughout Hawai`i. We are fortunate that Ko`ie`ie is still around today and that we can learn about our Hawaiian culture and its traditions and practices by visiting the site. So in turn, let's share our knowledge with others and encourage them to do their part to keep Hawai`i's fishponds alive!
