Mahalo Nui Loa to those who have supported us in the past and present:

2010: The Atherton Foundation awarded $10,000 to `Ao`ao O Na Loko I`a O Maui for the purchase of two canoes which will be used to give custom tours for visitors. The tours will provide participants with a unique cultural perspective of the fishpond wall and the ahupua`a of Ka`ono`ulu.

2010: The Fred Baldwin Foundation awarded $4,000 to support community work day volunteers and the purchase of fishpond restoration supplies for a period of one year.

2009 - The Office of Hawaiian Affairs awarded $81,965 to `Ao`ao O Na Loko I`a O Maui. OHA funds were used to hire temporary stone masons to work regularly on the wall of Ko`ie`ie and to support community volunteers. In addition, the education and outreach programs targeted Maui's school and commmunity organizations and Hawaiian communities.

2009 - The Hawai`i Tourism Authority awarded $30,000 to our non-profit to support a stone masonry position and community work day volunteers and restoratin supplies. Bilingual education materials were also produced and distributed to visitors to promote good stewardship of cultural sites such as Ko`ie`ie Fishpond.

2008 - In memory of Shirley Shinn, a devoted supporter of the restoration of Ko`ie`ie and resident of Menehune Shores Condominium, a contribution exceeding $50,000 was graciously accepted by our association. Her selfless contribution was used to hire our first executive director and has greatly added to the stability of our non-profit's foundation. We will always be appreciative of her wonderful contribution which has made a tremendous difference in our program. Mahalo Shirley! We'll miss you!

Summer 2007 - Hawai`i Tourism Authority and the County of Maui's Office of Economic Development awarded `Ao`ao O Na Loko I`a O Maui $20,000 to hire people to work on the restoration of the fishpond's wall. These funds allowed us to restore approximately 100 feet of the southern portion of Ko`ie`ie.

November 2005 - The Hawai`i Invasive Species Council granted us $8,500 to produce and distribute educational materials about invasive species. This included brochures, activity books, educational displays and a video about invasive species that impact the Ka`ono`ulu ahupua`a in which Ko`ie`ie Fishpond resides.

August 2004 - U.S. Fish and Wildlife Foundation granted our association $49,030 to perform an activity entitled, "Coral Reef Restoration through Erosion Prevention and Education."

Summer 2004 - National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) B-WET grant awarded us $40,823 to produce several remote control boats that will collect water quality data.

2004 - Office of Hawaiian Affairs awarded $24,070 to support education.

2003 - Hawai`i Tourism Authority awarded the association $140,000 to support the restoration of Ko`ie`ie's walls.

2002 - Pacific American Foudnation supported the cause with $250 in supplies that supported the Kahea Loko program.

2002 - Atherton Foundation awarded $5,000 towards education.

2002 - Alexander and Baldwin Foundation awarded $5,000 towards `Ao`ao O Na Loko I`a O Maui's education program.
